Reflection for April 30, 2017

" So in the present case, I tell you, keep away from these men and let them alone; because if this plan or this undertaking is of human origin, it will fail;  but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them—in that case you may even be found fighting against God!”(Acts 5:38-39)

When we see something we don't like our first impulse is often to stand against it. Physically, verbally doesn't really matter.  If we're torqued we're ready to respond.  But there is another way.

I've often thought that sometimes waiting and seeing what transpires might be the better choice.  Especially if something isn't clearly evil but might not be how I would want it to be.

If we take the Bible seriously then to not be against everything but to wait and see and trust that if something is not of God it will ultimately fail. The problem is that there may be some success happening before it fails.  But if something is God's will, we fight in vain.

Blessings,
Ed
